The Inaugural Great Alabama Chili Cookoff
Gasp cordially invites you to the Inaugural Great Alabama Chili Cookoff at Ghost Train Brewing Company on Saturday, October 26 from noon to 5 p.m. Teams will compete in categories like Traditional Chili (chili con Carne or chili with beans, pasta, etc.), Vegetarian/Vegan Chili, White Chili, and Best Overall Chili which will be judged by a panel of “local celebrities.” We will also have a special accolades for Best Spicy Chili, Best Team Decor, and Best Cornbread. Attendees will vote on the coveted People’s Choice Award.

This event will help raise awareness of Gasp’s mission to advance healthy air and environmental justice in the greater-Birmingham area through education, advocacy and collaboration. Proceeds from sponsorships, ticket sales and team entry fees will support our programmatic work such as Clean Air, Healthy Kids; Climate Change & Clean Energy; and Environmental Justice.
This event is hosted by the Gasp Junior Board, a diverse group of young professionals and students dedicated to raising awareness of our organization and support for our mission and programs.
All proceeds from this event benefit Gasp.

We will need volunteers to help with setup, breakdown, ticketing, trash duty, guest services, and more. You’ll get a free T-shirt and tickets to the event for the portion of the event you’re not working!
