by | Jun 11, 2025

On May 22, GASP partnered with the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) to host our first Smoke School of the year—a hands-on training and certification in Method 9 visible emissions evaluation.

Led by Brad and Fred Singleton of Singleton Smoke School, the session empowered participants—from grassroots advocates to legal experts—with the skills to identify and report air pollution violations using EPA-approved techniques.

We were proud to welcome attendees from across Alabama, including representatives from MEJACCoosa RiverkeeperBlack Warrior RiverkeeperSouthern Environmental Law CenterThe Capacity Collaborative, and engaged community members. We thank everyone for their participation, support, and commitment. —See you in six months to get re-certified!
